Historical Programs for Black History Month

November 8th, 2013 by

We all know Black History Month is right around the corner. And I bet you are wondering how the African American Museum of Iowa is preparing to celebrate. Say no more, I will share a secret of what the staff is preparing.

Historical Programs! The African American Museum of Iowa staff is currently brainstorming ideas for these historical programs to help educate you on different events that occurred during the Civil Rights Era. Some of the arising ideas are actually in the Oral Histories collection. If you would like, browse through these Oral Histories, located on the home page under the collections tab, to see if you can guess what topics the staff are going to choose. Stay tuned for the next update because it won’t be long for the staff to finalize their decisions for the Historical Program Topics.
