Carver was a generalist and did not deal to work
specifically in one area. For this reason, his work was not revered as much as it is today. Carver saw the interconnectedness of all sciences to one another.

"He could have added fortune to fame, but caring for neither, he found happiness and honor in being helpful to the world."
