Changing Exhibit

The African American Museum of Iowa houses Endless Possibilities, a permanent exhibit tracing Iowa’s African American heritage from its origins in western Africa, through slavery, the Civil War, Underground Railroad, through the Civil Rights struggles and to the many contributions continuing to be made today.  The Museum also houses the Gale Sayers Changing Exhibit Gallery, featuring temporary exhibits exploring themes in African American history in Iowa.  This Gallery plays host to at least one new exhibit annually.  For groups that can’t make it to the Museum, traveling mini-exhibits are created and available for loan.
