Teacher Resources
If you're an educator, look no further for helpful resources,
such as our Educators Guide, a handy tool with information
about tours, workshops, in-class presentations and more. You'll
also find curricula to tie into our current exhibit about
George Washington Carver; there's one set for preschool and
one for elementary grades. And if you want more information
about our free, twice-monthly preschool program, check out
this link for Learning Safari. You can even take your class
on a scavenger hunt through our Museum website!
Juan
Cortez Award
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts may earn the Juan Cortez award
and patch by learning about African American history. The
Museum also offers a similar award for girl scouts. To schedule
your troop's own Juan Cortez workshop, contact Education
Director Erin Thomas: education@blackiowa.org
or (319) 862-2101 x22.
